Assistant Academic Manager - VTTC 

An exciting new role has opened up within the Academic Management team in Vung Tau; we are now looking for an Assistant Academic Manager. 

The successful applicant will assist with teacher management for both English for Adults and English for Young Learners programmes, reporting to the Academic Manager. 

Scope: 

This person will assist with the day to day management of teachers in ILA Vietnam’s southern coastal training centre. 

The ILA Adult programmes will have approximately 150 part-time students, with 8 teachers. The Young Learner Department have approximately 1200 part-time students and 12 teachers. 

The Assistant Academic Manager will be part of a team which strives to deliver the best possible environment, resources and support for its teachers to ensure that the highest quality of teaching is delivered to our students. 

This role would be ideal for an individual looking to gain the training and experience to become an Academic Manager of their own training centre in the future. ILA is expanding and numerous opportunities are expected to arise over the next 12 - 24 months in various locations.

Responsibilities include: 

• Induction of new teachers 

• Teacher observations / appraisals / quality control 

• Teacher development / support 

• Testing and assessment 

• Assist with teacher scheduling 

• Placement testing 

• Teaching and substitute teaching 

• Other academic and administrative duties as required 

Requirements: 

• DELTA / Masters in TESOL or equivalent (or part completion thereof) 

• 3 years’ teaching experience, preferably with adults and young learners 

• Native English Speaker 

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills 

• A great deal of energy and enthusiasm 

• Ability to work in a team environment 

• Experience working within reputable language teaching organisations 

Remuneration and Benefits: 

ILA Vietnam offers a highly competitive financial and benefits package which is based on qualifications and experience. 

There are 4 salary scales, ranging from $30,600 to $39,900 usd gross per annum.
